about

Dust on the Radio's music is influenced by post-punk, new wave and power pop, but energized with blasts of synth harmony, soaring guitar and driving bass lines, creating an anthemic, danceable modern rock sound.

The music draws it's power from diverse influences, but distills it into updated form of rock that seems familiar, but freshly charged. A song about underemployment percolates with a stark rhythm and a mournful guitar. We wait for a sonic communion, disaffection comes with success, a spectacular escape clouded by doubt and disconnection - dark lyrics are resolved by sheer rock ecstasy. We're alone in this together. The music of Dust on the Radio takes you deep into that beautiful place and sets you free.

about

Dust on the Radio Los Angeles, California

Dust on the Radio is a five-piece alternative rock band based in Los Angeles. The music draws its power from post-punk and new wave, which is transformed into raucous anthemic barroom rock. Dark lyrics are resolved by cathartic live energy. This summer they hit the road on their first Midwest tour seeking the finest beer and fried cheese curds in all the land. ... more

Track Name: The Camera Loves You
The Camera Loves You

Your friends can’t reach you
they see your troubled eyes
but now you’re smiling
it’s the perfect lie

the camera loves you
makes you feel good
the camera loves you
I want to love you, too

guys can’t touch you
you’re such a luxury
the color of money
and envy is green

the camera loves you
it can see through
the camera loves you
into the deep blue
the camera loves you
I want to love you, too

Your parents didn’t want you
so far away
But you convinced them
Everything’s OK
You found someone
Who can change the light
And paint a picture
Of a perfect life

the camera loves you
makes you feel good
the camera loves you
I want to love you, too

the camera loves you
Track Name: Every Day
Every day it's hard to wake up
Every day before that first cup
Every day you want to see her
Maybe you should leave her?
Every day she’s such a temptress
Every day now you have a mistress
Every day you just deny it
Every day, have you got a light, man?

Every day
Every day

Every day you're twisting that cork
Every day when you get off from work
Every day you waste some money
Every day you have to wonder
Every day is that your sickness
Every day gotta get your fix now
Every day think you don't need it
Every day

that's just the cost of living
In a world - so unforgiving
You have to pay to play
But when you’re paying every day
I'm just saying that's not playing
It’s every day
Track Name: Dream to Forget
I’m in your living room
I should be leaving soon
Soon as I pick up all of my change

Been sleeping on your couch
I should be going now
Soon as you give up on all my dreams

I live in the here and now
I don’t know why or how
dream to forget
dream to forget
dream to forget

Dreams are just forgotten
Days to be erased
Dreams are just forgotten memories

A stand up comedian
Laugh in the face of doom
I’m killing itl you are killing me

I should be going now
Before you throw me out
Soon as I give up on all my dreams

I live in the here and now
I don’t know why or how
dream to forget

Dreams are just forgotten
Days to be erased
Dreams are just forgotten
Track Name: Underemployed
Working part time on a short term contract
When I get off, I just like to kick back
Don't work much, but I feel productive
if I do some reading or go running

In this line of work, there's not much money
Still my forecast is partly sunny
Looking for a job with benefits
‘cause I’m not getting paid; I’m not getting rich

Hit the ceiling, now I’m on the floor
I’m got my reasons – I’m underemployed
Not my decision to work and be bored
It’s my position - I’m under employed

I need nothing more
I need nothing more

in my down time I am always thinking
what's the next move? and what's the end game ?
I can do the work, but please explain
What do I do with the rest of my brain

Hit the ceiling, now I’m on the floor
I’m got my reasons – I’m underemployed

I need nothing more
I need nothing more
I need nothing more
I need nothing more

underemployed, underemployed
I need nothing more
Track Name: Waiting for the Sound
We’re waiting for the sound
The sound that sets us free
Free from what we want
And everyone we need
We’re waiting for the sound
The sound that brings us close
We’ll dance with everyone
All in good…

Time will not go faster
It won’t go back
It won’t slow down
Feels like forever
Right now

We’re waiting for the sound
The sound that let’s us go
To places we can’t see
And people I don’t know
Become a part of me
Just waiting for the sound
The sound that gives us hope
That maybe things have changed
Forever

Time will not go faster
It won’t go back
It won’t slow down
It feels like forever
Right now
We’re waiting for the sound

Time will not go faster
feels like forever
Right now
We’re waiting for the sound
Track Name: One Way Trip to Mars
enough fuel to go there
not enough to come home
there's no turning back
we're going, going, gone
we will search for chemicals
that’s the mission plan
I’ll look inside of you and find out who I am

We’re on a rocket ship
half way to the stars
leaving on a one way trip
a one way trip to Mars

When I look inside your eyes
I see empty space
Leaving never to return
We finally have escaped
We will drive the rover down
through the dust and sand
Where I lost sight of you and forgot who I am

We’re on a rocket ship
half way to the stars
leaving on a one way trip
a one way trip to Mars

When see the stars
In your eyes
I can feel your heart
Come to life
On Mars
